A journey of self-discovery and empowerment that led to the creation of my own platform
In the dim glow of my computer screen, I sat, typing away at a story for a newsletter. Excitement coursed through me as I poured my heart into each word, envisioning the impact it would have on readers. But when the newsletter went out, my name was absent. Confusion and disappointment flooded my mind. Why was I not credited for my work?
As I wrestled with this question, my thoughts turned to a possibility. In a world where biases and prejudices often lurk beneath the surface, it seemed possible that my identity played a role in this oversight. It was a realization, one that stung with the sting of injustice.
But from that moment of introspection emerged a seed of empowerment. I refused to be put into the shadows, unseen and unheard. Instead, I embraced the idea of "Why In Color" - a phrase that digests my journey to reclaim my voice and assert my presence.
With a newfound solution, I am on a mission to carve out my own space in the world of storytelling. I launched my own newsletter, where I could speak my truth without fear of censorship or deletion.
And so, with each article signed boldly "By Nekold," I celebrate not just my words, but the vibrant hues of my identity. I refused to be defined by the limitations imposed upon me by society. Instead, I take pleasure in the richness of my experiences, knowing that my voice matters, not in spite of, but because of my color.
That’s right! Not only a voice but also a face!
Yessssss come through, hate that you had to experience that but it’s only gone make you stronger.
